It proudly hosts the nationwide Latvian Song and Dance Festival every five years. In 2008 more than 38,000 singers, dancers, and musicians participated in the weeklong event.

Although slower than two-cycle smoke-spewing auto-rickshaws, bicycle rickshaws don't pollute the air, and the only heat they add to the atmosphere is from the bodies of their drivers..

He knows where all of the best Indian and Pakistani restaurants are throughout Chicago, but prefers his wife's home cooking above all. His favorites? ?Kebabs, chicken tika, or biryani?spicy food,? he says.
